Grandson of Education Minister gets off with Warning for Marijuana Possession

THE 19-year-old grandson of Education Minister Anthony Garcia has been reprimanded and discharged after being found with marijuana.

Damavi Garcia, of Arima, was found to be in the possession of .65 grammes of marijuana during a police exercise in Bon Air Gardens in Arouca on Wednesday.

He appeared before an Arima magistrate was reprimanded and discharged meaning a conviction would not be registered against him.

The magistrate let him off with a warning saying that his scholarship would not be in jeopardy. He is a recipient of a scholarship.
