A NEW board has been appointed for the Housing Development Corporation (HDC) with Noel Garcia remaining as chairman.
On Tuesday, Housing Minister Camille Robinson-Regis issued instruments of appointment to the new board ceremony at HDC’s head office, South Quay, Port of Spain.
Also joining the board would be a member of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).
The HDC board will consist of Garcia, returning members Kurt Winston Salandy, Dante Selman-Carrington, Simone Ashby, Sanjiv Boodhu, Joseph Jacob, Joanne Deoraj and the THA representative who will soon be appointed by the President.
Robinson-Regis said, “Last year, the HDC was able to deliver houses to over 770 families, despite the challenges of the pandemic including the challenge of higher prices for construction materials and work stoppages.”
The minister also thanked Noel for his leadership advising that the board not only focus on affordability but also on sustainable development.
