FORMER United National Congress (UNC) councillor Phillip Gonzales was stabbed in his chest on Saturday night.
A video showed a hurt Gonzales being assisted by UNC supporters began circulating on social media soon after the incident happened just before 11 pm.
The incident took place in Moruga during a motorcade by the political party, the last of the major campaigning efforts for the general election on Monday.
Gonzales was a local government councillor in Moruga.

AZPNews.com was told Gonzales was taken to Princes Town District Health Facility and was sent for further treatment to the San Fernando General Hospital.
