4 New Covid-19 Cases Reported on Sunday Morning

FOUR news cases of Covid-19 have been reported by the Ministry of Health in its Sunday morning update.

It stated that three were recent contacts with Covid-19 patients while the other is pending epidemiological investigation.

This bring the total number of positive Covid-19 patients in Trinidad and Tobago to 279.

The ministry has therefore reported 54 new cases in the past 24 hours.

The release stated that 10,722 samples have been submitted for testing by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and UWI site at Mt Hope.

It stated that 9,136 unique patient tests have been completed with 1,586 people being tested more than once.

Deaths remain at eight and 135 patients have been discharged.

There were now 136 active Covid-19 cases in TT.

It stated that 89 patients were in hospital while 27 new patients were en route to be warded.

According to the release, 48 patients were at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility and 41 at the Caura Hospital.

It also noted that 20 patients were at the stepdown facility in Brooklyn in Sangre Grande.
