ST CLAIR – POLICE have seized an illegal firearm at the Flood Street, St Clair home of a prominent Trinidad and Tobago businessman on Friday.
Officers of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) had to scale the front gate of the home and arrested a relative of the businessman who was at home.
Police Commissioner Gary Griffith visited the scene around 10 a.m. and said that police acting on information had executed a warrant and found an illegal firearm.
He said there were also three safes that were locked and locksmiths were called in to try and open them.
Investigations are continuing.
