THE public holiday for Eid-Ul-Fitr is on Saturday, April 22, 2023.
This was declared by President Christine Kangaloo on Tuesday.
A release from the Ministry of Communications stated that President Kangaloo made the declaration on advice of Cabinet.
Currently, the Muslim community is in preparation for the festival as they are observing the prayer and fasting month of Ramadan.
This will be the third public holiday celebrated in April as the long Easter weekend comprising Good Friday and Easter Monday just ended, making April the month with the most public holidays for the year.
