WATSON DUKE has resigned as Deputy Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly.
He remains the political leader of the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) and the representative of Roxborough/Argyle.
Duke and THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine have fallen out because of a troupe of musicians who went to New York and claimed they were stranded without the support of the THA. Augustine said the THA did render financial assistance to the group.
At a press conference in Trinidad, Duke claimed that Augustine has formed a political party and described him as former PNM chief secretary “Orville London on steroids.”
He said Augustine and his friends were just like the PNM said he will not sit next to him.
Duke claimed THA was giving out big contracts to Trinidadian contractors.
He said he will not settle the dispute behind closed doors.
Duke described Augustine as “jellyfish man” without a spine.
“I will not be part of an executive run by a child and his friends,” he said.
