PORT-OF-SPAIN-PRESIDENT of the Downtown Owners and Merchants Association (DOMA) Gregory Aboud is asking that Government tax his members to improve the capital city.

He was speaking during a consultation on the development of a Port-of-Spain “master plan” at the Government Campus Plaza on Wednesday.

He said governments have been unwilling to institute taxes on business for fear of losing votes, but he said businesses were willing and eager to contribute to the development of Port-of-Spain.

“We the business people are asking you to tax all of the business people,” he said.
