It was in response to an individual who had commented – “we have to listen to those MATT apologies for journalists asking irrelevant, dotish and vexing questions?”

The original post informing about the news conference on Friday was still posted on Deyalsingh’s page, but the comment has been removed.

In reply to question form the media on Friday, he said, “I will never, ever, make a post that is derogatory to media… or anyone else.”

He said, “There is so much unwelcome activity on Facebook that we have to manage that.”

Deyalsingh noted that it was never his intention to make “that sort of post.”

He said he would make informative posts and does not make comments of that nature.

Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi, who was also at Friday’s virtual media briefing said there was “a lot of sabotage happening on the online platform.”

Al-Rawi said, “A lot of news is put out that is misleading. I use that term loosely, in inverted commas, news. Thanks for bringing it to our attention, but we’re literally working almost 24 hours a day.”
