Noah spent almost 15 minutes talking about Minaj’s tweet on Monday that went viral in his usual comedic way.

Noah played clips from the Ministry of Health’s press conference held on Wednesday in which Deyalsingh said the ministry wasted much time trying to  get the truth, if any, about the claim because every claim was taken seriously.

Noah told his audience, “You think Dr Fauci had a gruff. The health minister of Trinidad had to spend the whole day asking people about their balls. How are your testicles and how are yours? Is everything fine?”

He added, “One thing I love about the Caribbean though is how people can politely cuss you out without using a single swear word because he (Deyalsingh) seemed chill but  he was telling her off.

“That have been the most dignified telling off I have ever heard from a Government official. It made me feel ashamed and I have nothing to do with it.”

In his video interview with Noah, Deyalsingh said to date over one million doses of vaccines were administered in a country of 1.4 million people.

“We are a small but proud country and we are confident that we have brought WHO (World Health Organization) approved vaccines to Trinidad and Tobago.”

Deyalsingh said of all the doses administered there were only five cases of adverse effects which were all reported to WHO.

“None of them includes testicular swelling,” the minister said.

He added, “When one weighs that against ravages of Covid-19 around the world where close to 4.6 million people have in fact died the advantages of vaccination far outweigh the miniscule risk.”

Referring to another claim by Minaj that noone in Trinidad can work without the vaccine, Deyalsingh said, “In simple language, that is simply not true. Our vaccination programme is voluntary but highly recommended.”

Deyalsingh was asked by Noah to share a message to Minaj.

He responded, “My message to the Trinidad and Tobago diaspora anywhere that you are, is that vaccines are safe, vaccines are effective.”

The minister said the Caribbean was one of the best places in the world to live. He encouraged the Caribbean diaspora to get vaccinated in order to save lives “so that we can get back to our Caribbean way of life.”

Deyalsingh also joked with Noah that he recommends Noah be vaccinated if he wanted to visit T&T to enjoy Carnival and that he will personally take him around the country and introduce him to the local food including doubles.

CNC3 Morning Brew host Jason “JW” Williams was also featured on the show.
