HEALTH Minister Terrence Deyalsingh has received his Covid-19 vaccine booster shot.
The Ministry of Health in a press release stated that Deyalsingh received his Pfizer booster at the Paddock, Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain on Tuesday.
Deyalsingh had previously received two primary doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, the first dose on April 6 at the St Joseph Enhanced Health Centre and the second on June 7, 2021 at The Paddock.
After receiving the vaccine, Deyalsingh urged members of the public who are fully vaccinated “to get their booster vaccines at selected vaccination sites across the country, in accordance with the advertised schedule”.
The booster programme officially began on Monday.
The Ministry of Health reminded the public that Covid-19 vaccine boosters are administered after a prescribed time has passed since the recipient received his or her second dose of a two-dose regimen vaccine or a dose of a one-dose regimen vaccine.
The schedule for the first phase of the booster programme is available on the ministry’s website.
