THE body of a newborn baby was found in a garbage bag in a bin on Bowen Street in Maraval on Wednesday morning.
Reports indicated that it was discovered by a sanitation worker after 6 am.He was making his usual morning collection.
The body was discovered in a communal bin used by residents. The garbage collected is taken to the Beetham Landfill.
Police said a post-mortem will be done to determine the cause of death. The body was taken to the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James.
Investigators said the baby could be only days old.
