Cunupia Businesswoman Kills Bandit

A BUSINESSWOMAN shot and killed a bandit as he attempted to rob her plant shop.

Police reports are that around 1 pm on Saturday, the proprietors of a plant shop located at Warren Road, Bejucal, Cunupia, were at the establishment, seated in the office area preparing to pay employees, when a man entered brandishing a firearm and demanding cash and jewellery.

The suspect proceeded to take one Samsung S22+ cell phone, valued $8,000 from the man and the woman handed over a gold chain valued $4,000.

The businesswoman, who owns a licensed firearm, then drew her weapon and fired several shots at the assailant, hitting him about his body and he collapsed and died at the scene.

The District Medical Officer visited the scene, made his pronouncement, and ordered the removal of the body. 

Crime Scene Investigators processed the scene, and found in the possession of the deceased, one chrome coloured .38 revolver loaded with five rounds of .38 ammunition and $200 cash. 

The deceased man is yet to be identified.
