THE body of autistic 15-year-old Malini Persad is believed to have been found on Thursday in Barrackpore.

The body was discovered just after midday at Mussarap Trace, Barrackpore by a team of persons who were searching for Persad.

Vallence Rambharat who leads the Hunters Search and Rescue Team told AZP News, “The body was heavily pecked by corbeaux.”

While he could not say anything about a state of decomposition, he said the flock of  the scavengers in one spot led the team to believe something of interest was in that particular forested area.

Persad ,of Douglas Road, Barrackpore was last seen on Sunday, and was reported missing to the Barrackpore Police Station  the same day.

She was of East Indian descent, five feet, five inches tall, with a black shoulder length hairstyle. She was last seen wearing a blue pajama strap top, a pair of long pants and blue slippers.

A man is in custody for her disappearance, and police are treating the case as a murder case.
