A CHAGUANAS man was arrested and a firearm and quantity of ammunition seized on Friday.
Police reported on Saturday that the arrest was made by officers of the Central Division during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Enterprise district. Officers conducted the exercise between 3pm and 11pm.
At School Lane, Enterprise, Chaguanas, a male suspect was arrested for possession of a Smith and Wesson revolver and two rounds of ammunition. A search of the suspect’s home also resulted in a Samsung 42-inch television set which was reported stolen in the Couva district.
The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt (Ag) Simon and Supt Pierre and included officers of the Couva Criminal Investigations Department, Couva Police Station, Central Division Task Force, Area South and the Canine Branch.
