Members of the public will have access to cardiovascular risk assessment, blood pressure testing, diabetes counselling, vision and eye disease screening, women’s health, nutrition and personal fitness, colonoscopy and mammogram counselling, dental health counselling, CPR instruction and sleep assessment.

President of the Chamber, Richie Sookhai told AZP News that coming out of the major tranches of the Covid-19 pandemic, there was a need for the population to be healthier.

He said, “We have seen coming out of this pandemic that we are not really a healthy population. Cardiovascular disease and diabetes have been topping the comorbidities that persons have and we still have to be very cautious about our health.”

Sookhai said, “We will be focusing not just on diseases but on taking better care of yourself if you have any of those. We will also be focusing on good nutrition and on fitness for example, a person with diabetes may want to inquire if they could still be fit.”

The Chamber President thanked all the corporate sponsors for getting on board with the idea adding that it will not be a one-off event.

The several sponsors for the event include Royal Bank, Sagicor, Republic Bank, Gem Printery, Starbucks, KDR Medical, Digicel and others.
