Chamber President Richie Sookhai said he was concerned about recent reports being submitted by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Dr Roshan Parasram relating to an increase in the number of Covid-19 cases throughout Trinidad and Tobago  which  showed that  as a nation, citizens were  becoming complacent.

Sookhai is calling on the public to follow the guidelines set out by the CMO which includes the wearing of masks, the washing and sanitisation of hands as often as needed, maintenance of social distancing, and businesses must continue to put strict safety measures in place for both their staff and the public.

He said, “Trinidad and Tobago must strive to be patient until the Covid-19 vaccines are properly disseminated and the risk of further spread of the virus is eliminated.

“Prime Minister, our prayers and well wishes are with you at this time for a swift recovery.”
