Trinidad and Tobago swimmer Dylan Carter has qualified for the Tokyo Olympics after reaching the semi-final in the 100m freestyle at the FINA World Aquatics Championships in South Korea.
Carter finished 12th overall in 48.52 seconds, inside the Tokyo 2020 qualifying standard of 48.57.
He made the revelation on Twitter: “Excited to announce that I’ve qualified for the Tokyo 20202 Olympics Games, which will begin in exactly one year from today!”
Carter’s first Olympics was the 2016 Games in Rio de Janeiro and last year he won the silver medal in the butterfly at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast, Australia.
