A problem at one of the country’s power plants causes a blackout in many parts of Trinidad.
A press release by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) stated that the problem occurred around 11.30 am on Wednesday. It also interrupted the Ministry of Health’s virtual media conference that usually takes place from 11 am to 12 noon.
T& TEC stated, “The Commission’s engineers are working closely with the independent power producer to resolve the problem and anticipates that supply should be restored by 1 pm today. At this point, the cause of the problem is not known.”
Trinidad and Tobago is also on an adverse weather alert till Thursday.
