AN 18-year-old Rio Claro man is granted $5,000 bail for housebreaking.
Recardo Baksh, unemployed, of Sydney Street, appeared before Rio Claro Magistrate Ava Vandenberg-Bailey on Friday for housebreaking and larceny.
He was charged after a woman reported that her house was broken into 30 minutes after she left her house on Wednesday.
According to the report, at 3 pm, the woman secured her home located in Rio Claro and went away. Upon her return around 3.35 pm, she allegedly discovered the front door forced open and several items missing from her home, including a birthday cake, a pack of milk and porridge.
She subsequently made a report to officers at the Rio Claro Police Station who launched an investigation.
Following enquiries by acting Cpl Sookwah and PCs Rampersad and Mahabir of the Rio Claro CID, under the supervision of Sgt Maharaj, police located the 18-year-old suspect.
Baksh will reappear before the court on October 26, 2023.
