A BEE infestation has caused the vehicle transfer transactions at the Ato Boldon Stadium in Couva to come to a sudden halt.
The Ministry of Works and Transport in a media release stated in a release on Wednesday that the stadium will be closed until Thursday.
The release stated, “The Ministry apologises for the inconvenience and short notice, however, it has become necessary to take precautionary measures to protect the health and safety of our staff and valued clients due to a bee infestation on the compound.”
Service at the Ato Boldon Stadium will resume on Thursday.
In the interim, the public is being reminded to utilise the two additional locations at Larry Gomes Stadium (Arima) and Wrightson Road Licensing Office to conduct vehicle transfer transactions.
No appointment is necessary to access this service.
Additionally given the demand for vehicle transfer transactions, the ministry has also taken the decision to extend the use of the Ato Boldon and Larry Gomes stadiums to April 6, the release stated.
