SEVERAL persons were arrested over the weekend for various offences.
The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) in a release on Sunday stated the suspects were arrested during weekend anti-crime exercises across the country.
On Saturday in the Barataria district, an exercise was conducted between 7 am and 8.30 am, during which officers executed a search warrant at the Mt Lambert home of a male suspect for firearms and ammunition.
The suspect, who was also wanted in connection with a report of Shooting with Intent, which occurred on Friday, was arrested in connection with the matter.
He is expected to be charged with several charges relating to firearms.
In a separate exercise in the Morvant district, officers were on mobile patrol when they observed a silver Chevrolet Cruz abandoned along Pitch Road. Further checks revealed the vehicle was involved in a robbery incident in the Point Fortin district on June 17.
The same party of officers then proceeded to Ninth Avenue, Malick, where they recovered one silver Nissan AD Wagon, which was reported stolen from the Laventille district between Friday night and Saturday morning.
And, in the Southern Division, an intelligence-led anti-crime operation was conducted between 3 am and 8 am, on Friday in the Princes Town district.
During the exercise, six persons were arrested for various offences including possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana and house breaking andlarceny. Investigations are ongoing into all the above matters.
