20 Arrested in Police Exercises

TWENTY people were arrested during anti-crime exercises in Southern Division over the last 48 hours.

One man was arrested and a quantity of drugs seized during an exercise in the Southern Division on Thursday, according to a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) on Friday.

Between the hours of 4 am and 9 am yesterday, officers of the Southern Division Task Force and Canine Branch conducted an exercise which focused on priority offenders in Area East of the Southern Division where six search warrants were executed.

During the exercise a 37-year-old man of New Grant was found to be in possession of 15.7 grammes of cocaine and 110 grammes of marijuana. He was arrested and is expected to be charged for the possession of illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking.

This exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Ramphal, ASP Phillip, Insp Ramlogan, Sgts Joseph and Mason, and directly supervised by, Cpl Phoolchan.

Also during a warrant exercise conducted in both Area East and West on Wednesday  officers arrested 17 persons for affiliated warrants
