A 27-year-old Rio Claro man is expected to be charged with the murder of 13-year-old Andrea Lallan and her uncle Sylyan Lallan.
The man of Old Mayaro Road, Rio Claro, is expected to be charged for the double murder of Andrea Lallan, 13, and her uncle Sylyan Lallan which occurred on September 29, a release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) stated on Saturday.
The release stated that he will also be charged with of attempted murder and possession of a firearm and ammunition.
This comes after advice from Director of Public Prosecutions Roger Gaspard, SC, on Saturday.
According to police, around 2.10 am on September 29, 2023, a call was made to the Rio Claro Police Station about a shooting and people were being taken to the Rio Claro Health Facility.
Acting Corporal Sookwah and PC Mahabir responded and on arrival at the Rio Claro Health Center, met victim Eddie Lallan, 51 years old, father of the 13-year-old deceased of Old Mayaro Road, Rio Claro, who reported that there was a shooting at his home and that other victims were still at the scene.
The party of officers proceeded to Old Mayaro Road, Libertville, Rio Claro, and on arrival at the home, they found the deceased.
An investigative team from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations, Region Two, under the supervision of Head of Homicide, Snr Supt Rishi Singh, ASP Victor, Insp Ramjag and Sgt Ramsahi Singh continued investigations and the suspect was later arrested.
The investigative team presented the facts before the DPP who advisedthat that the suspect be charged.
