ONE woman is among eight people arrested on Friday as police investigate a number of murders across the country.
Among those arrested are three people for the killings of the Peterkin family on September 21.
The murder toll in Trinidad and Tobago has crossed 450.
A release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service on Saturday stated the people arrested included:
- A 49-year-old woman of Gaskin Bay Road, Bon Accord, Tobago relative to the circumstances surrounding the death of Rae-Ann Henry which occurred on Saturday February 30, 2023 in the Crown Point Police District;
- A 35-year-old man of Scorpion Alley, Carenage, in relation to the deaths of Leon Sylvester and Elijah Brewster which occurred on Monday August 14, 2023, in the Carenage Police District;
- A 27-year-old man of Old Mayaro Road, Libertville, Rio Claro, relative to the death of Andrea Lallan and Sylvan Lallan which occurred on Friday September 29, 2023 in the Rio Claro Police District;
- A 24-year-old man, of Cemetery Street, Heights of Guanapo; Arima, a 22-year-old man of Heights of Guanapo, Arima; and a 34-year-old man, of Hoyte Avenue, Arima, were also arrested relative to the circumstances surrounding the deaths of Shane Peterkin, Tiffany Peterkin, Arianna Peterkin and Faith Peterkin which occurred on Thursday, September 21, 2023 in the Arima Police District; and
- Two men, a 26-year-old man of Cipriani Street, Mon Repos and a 19-year-old man of Maingot Road, Tunapuna, relative to the circumstances surrounding the death of Anthony Andrews which occurred on Monday 20th March 2023, in the Mon Repos Police District
