COVID-19 cases continue to increase following the Carnival period with 622 new positive cases being reported in the past week.
Additionally, another eight persons have died of Covid-19, the Ministry of Health stated in its latest update (#1,243), for the period March 1, 2023 to March 7, 2023.
The eight persons who died were elderly men, three elderly women and one middle-aged woman. Six had multiple comorbidities and two persons had a single comorbidity.
The ministry also stated that 174, 515 boosters have been administered while 51.3% of the population of Trinidad and Tobago is fully vaccinated.
