AFTER eight years of presenting National Budgets, Finance Minister Colm Imbert said Monday was the first time he did not introduce a tax.
In a tweet on Tuesday morning, the day after presenting the 2023/2024 Budget in the Lower House, Imbert said, “I was happy yesterday to finally be able, after 8 years of economic strain, to present a Budget with no new taxes or increases and instead to be able to help people at the lowest end of the income scale with a $3 increase in the minimum wage, $1,000 book grant and $1B in backpay.”
