Adverse Weather Alert for T&T

THE Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued an Adverse Weather Alert Yellow Level with the passing of Tropical Storm Elsa.

In an update on Thursday afternoon,  the TTMS said the alert has been issued from Friday at 8pm and ending on Saturday at 12 noon.

The TTMS stated, “Periods of rain and showers of varying intensities, are expected mainly overnight Friday 2nd July 2021 to Saturday 3rd July 2021, with a 70 percent (high) chance of thunderstorm activity.

“Gusty winds in excess of 55 km/hr may be experienced especially in the vicinity of downpours and localised flooding is highly likely. Seas can become agitated at times, due to the strong winds.”

This alert comes in effect after this morning passage of Tropical Storm Elsa which is expected to cross over the Lesser Antilles.

In addition, the MET Office has advised that Trinidad and Tobago may be affected by the feeder bands from the storm.
