Harriet Cross is New British High Commissioner to TT

TRINIDAD and Tobago has a new British High Commissioner.

She is Harriet Cross and the first female to be appointed to the position.

Although it was announced on February 14 by the Foreign, Commonwealth and development office, Cross only arrived  in the country on September 1 due to delay by the coronavirus pandemic.

She is presently undergoing the mandatory 14-day quarantine.

In a press release issued by the British High Commission, the Commission stated that Cross is expected to present her credentials to President Paula-Mae Weekes shortly after her quarantine. Details have not been finalised.

Cross succeeds Tim Stew MBE who will be transferring to another Diplomatic Service appointment the Commission stated.

Upon her arrival Cross posted on Twitter, “I have arrived in Trinidad & Tobago as British High Commissioner. What utterly gorgeous islands! Two weeks quarantine then I can start to explore this wonderful country.”
