FUAD Abu Bakr is no longer the public relations officer of the Jamaat Al Muslimeen – the organisation run by his father Yasin Abu Bakr.
A release on Wednesday by the Jamaat stated that Bakr (F) no longer speaks for or on behalf of the organisation.
The release was signed by acting PRO Lorris Ballack.
Bakr (F), the political leader of the New National Vision was refused to be screened by the People’s National Movement for a Port-of-Spain seat.
He had claimed that he was promised a seat but the PNM said he was not nominated through due process in according to the party’s constitution.
Bakr (F) and his father had differing views about conversations they had with PNM political leader and Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley concerning the younger Bakr being screened for a seat.
