COMMUNICATIONS Minister Donna Cox shows off her Spanish speaking skills during the end of the virtual media conference on Wednesday.
In thanking the response after her ministry put out a call for Spanish translators, she spoke in English and then gave the translation in Spanish.
She said, “Today before we go, I want to thank those who responded to the Ministry of Communications’ call to volunteer as Spanish translators.
“Antes de finalizar, yo quiero agradecer a aquellos que respondieron al llamado de ser voluntario del Ministerio de Comunicaciones como traductores al español.
“Your selflessness and sense of duty to country allowed us to reach our spanish speaking population and ensure they are getting the messages of the government during this pandemic. for this we are grateful.
“We thank you for your service and giving of your time freely; it is appreciated.
“Les damos las gracias por su servicio y el ofrecer su tiempo de manera gratuita. lo valoramos.
“I am donna cox, Minister of Communications. Thank you for joining us today as the government continues its efforts to flatten the curve and beat Covid-19. Stay home, stay safe.
“May God bless Trinidad and Tobago.”
“Yo soy Donna Cox, Ministra de Comunicaciones. gracias por acompañarnos hoy mientras el gobierno continúa sus esfuerzos para aplanar la curva y vencer al covid-diecinueve. Quédate en casa, cuídate. que dios bendiga a Trinidad y Tobago.”
