THERE are 838 beds allocated in the fight against Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.
This was revealed by the Minister of Health Terrence Deyalsingh at a virtual news conference on Sunday.
He gave the breakdown as follows:
- 230 at Couva Medical and Modern-Training Facility
- 50 at Augustus Long to come online this week
- 100 at Caura Hospital
- 94 at Arima General Hospital
- 50 at the National Racquet Centre in Tacarigua to be used as a convalescence centre
- 30 at Sangre Grande to be used as a convalescence centre
- 96 at University of the West Indies, Debe Campus to be used as a convalescence centre
- 13 at Princess Elizabeth Centre to be used as an isolation centre
- 60 at NAPA to be used as an isolation quarantine for health care workers
- 40 at Balandra to be used as an isolation quarantine and convalescence facility and
- 75 at Tobago to be used for acute care and critical cases
