Covid-19: 4 More to be Discharged Sunday

THERE are now 113 people who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Trinidad and Tobago.

The latest figures were given by the Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram at a virtual news conference on Sunday evening.

He said 12 persons have been discharged thus far with four more expected to be discharged shortly.

Parasram said there were 59 patients hospitalised at both the Couva Medical and Modern Training Facility and the Caura Hospital.

He said at Caura, there were 18 patients with very mild symptoms of the virus and in stable condition.

Parasram said at Couva Hospital there were a total of 41 patients out of which 36 of these ambulatory and stable patients, one patient in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) who was not ventilated and four patients in the High Dependency Unit (HDU).

Parasram said, “As we created convalescent tight stepdown over the past weeks, the health ministry was able to discharge 30 persons from the Couva facility and transferred to another facility.

“In addition, 19 persons from the Balandra camp have also been discharged however three persons from that group have tested positive for the Covid-19 and have been held back at the facility and is currently awaiting another negative test which will be done within the next week.”
