THE Child Protection Unit of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is investigating three reports of children consuming marijuana in brownies and suck-a-bags.
A release by the TTPS stated that the incidents occurred in the Central and Northern Division over the past week.
It stated that five children from Chaguanas police district consumed brownies that a student brought to school as part of Valentine’s Day celebration and another child from the Couva district, bought the item from a vendor outside the school.
The students were taken to the hospital where they were attended to and discharged.
The release stated that one week ago in the Northern Division two students consumed marijuana in a suck-a-bag.
One child purchased the item from a man she met on Instagram and subsequently made the purchase of two suck-a-bags for $50 at the Arima Dial.
She then shared the item with a friend at school they were taken to seek medical attention and later discharged, the release stated.
