When AZP News visited the area on Wednesday, People’s National Movement (PNM) candidate for Moruga/Tableland Lisa Atwater along with Minister of Trade and Industry Paula Gopee-Scoon were busy with preparations for setting up an office ahead of the general elections.
However, members of San Fernando Fishing Cooperative Society Ltd are upset that the Gran Chemin Facility was opening while they given notice that the San Fishing Facility would be partially opened from 6 am on January 16.
Instead, fishermen were prevented from entering the compound on that day.
Members of that association are waiting to have a date set for a meeting with the Director of Fisheries to further discuss the issue.
