A 38-year-old labourer has appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with the murder.
Nikell Joseph of St. Margaret’s was charged with the murder of Michael Don Wilson, which occurred on November 16, 2024.
He appeared before Master Franklin of the South Court ‘B’, on Monday. The matter was adjourned to January 31, 2025.
Wilson, 41, aka ‘Michael Looney’, a fisherman, of West Bay Shore, Marabella, was involved in an altercation with another man in the district on November 15, 2024. During the incident, he was allegedly, beaten about the head and body. The victim was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital for treatment where he died around 4 am on November 16, 2024.
One male suspect was arrested in connection with the incident on January 2202, 5.
Investigations were spearheaded by Supt Persad and supervised by Insp Ousman, both of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI), Region Three.
Joseph was charged with the offence by WPC Roberts, also of HBI Region Three, on January 6, 2025, following advice received from Acting Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions, Sabrina Dougdeen-Jaglal, on that same date.
