THE National Entrepreneurship Development Company Ltd (NEDCO) responsible for assisting local entrepreneurs in growing their businesses went a step further for the Christmas season.
On November 30, at C3 mall in Corinth San Fernando, NEDCO arranged for approximately 80 entrepreneurs to showcase their locally crafted goods and services to the shopping and viewing public in NEDCO’s third such venture for 2024.
Available to the public were a wide range of products from locally made scented candles and soaps, crocheted toys, art pieces, wine, books and more for the one-day event, “The NEDCO Entrepreneurship Village”.
Chief marketing and branding officer for NEDCO Colin Providence told AZP News, “We are celebrating entrepreneurship and giving our entrepreneurs an opportunity to come and sell their products and some of them will be selling services as well.”
He encouraged persons to support the local craft adding that prices were competitive.
“Our vendors, they really understand the market because one of the things that we teach them at NEDCO is that they have to be price competitive. You don’t want to make your products and then be outpriced by what else is on offer,” Providence said.
NEDCO’s next stop will be in Port of Spain for Carnival 2025.
Then later on in the year, the company is expected to host a similar event in east Trinidad.
Providence said NEDCO was attempting to reach various parts of the country to promote local products.
