PORT OF SPAIN – An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.5 rocked Trinidad and Tobago just before midnight on Thursday, the Seismic Research Centre (SRC) of the St, Augustine campus of the University of the West Indies (UWI) has reported.
It stated that the quake, which occurred at 11.30 pm was located Latitude 10.97N and Longitude 62.20W at a depth of 33 km.
It was located 84 km north west of Port of Spain.
It was felt in the capital Port of Spain, Arima, and San Fernando in south Trinidad. There were no immediate reports of injuries or damage.
People reported feeling tremors in Diego Martin, Glencoe, Chaguanas, South Oropouche and Sangre Grande. (CMC)
