THE Judicial Office of Research and Technical Training (JORTT) and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has received US $50,000 for Case Activity Data Systems (CADS).
A release from the US Embassy Public Affairs Section on Tuesday stated the initiative was implemented through the Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) through the U.S. Embassy.The two projects implemented by the National Center for State Courts (NSCS), as part of the INL Caribbean Ant-Crime Program, were scheduled to run through January 2026, with ongoing support from the INL through June 2026.
The release highlighted that the JORTT project will enhance the case statistical reporting system, and aims to improve statistical reporting, strategy and decision-making, and performance monitoring. Whereas the TTPS project will support the development and implementation of a case tracking, analysis, and data collection system.
Meanwhile, US Ambassador Candace Bond said, “CADS is “a cornerstone tool for internal infrastructure to support efficient and effective case management, thereby enhancing the overall effectiveness and transparency of the justice and police systems.“It will also enable comprehensive data collection and statistical analysis, which are critically needed to assess ongoing needs and allocate resources effectively.”
