AN English man was attacked by a shark at Courland Bay in Tobago on Friday morning.
A Facebook post by Chief Secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) Farley Augustine stated that the incident happened around 9.15 am about ten metres from shore.
The beach also called Turtley Bay is near to Starfish Hotel and is now closed off.
The beach has been closed.
The victim has been identified as Peter Smith, 64, of Berkhamsted England.
The Facebook post stated that he his left hand was severed from the elbow down. He also suffered injuries to this right thigh and stomach.
The bull shark was said to be close to ten foot long.
