TWO suspects have been arrested in connection with two separate reports of robbery with aggravation in the Arima and Matura on Sunday.
In the first incident, a male victim reported to police that around 6 pm on Sunday, he was leaving his Arima workplace and about to enter his vehicle when he was accosted by two men who announced a robbery.
The assailants relieved the victim of a quantity of valuables before fleeing.
A report was made to the police and officers of the La Horquetta Police Station who were on mobile patrol in the area apprehended one of the suspects, a 22-year-old Chaguanas man, a short distance away.
The search continues for the second suspect.
In the second incident, a Matura man reported to police that around 11.30 pm, yesterday, he was in the company with other persons when a man wielding a gun started making threats against them.
It is alleged the gunman pointed the firearm in the direction of the victim and fired a shot. The victim was unharmed.
The assailant then allegedly relieved the victim of his cellular phone before leaving the scene.
A report was made to the police and officers of the Matura Police Station apprehended the suspect a short time later.
Investigations are ongoing into the two incidents.
