SEVERAL parts in south-east Trinidad are expected to have a disruption in water supply on Thursday.
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) stated that customers served by the St Julien Booster Station will have an interruption from 10 am to 6 pm. This has become necessary in order to facilitate the installation of a flow meter to improve the efficiency in operations at the facility, WASA stated in a news release on Tuesday.
Affected areas include: Cumuto, Cunjal, Battan Trace, Paynter Trace, Subratee Trace, Teelucksingh Trace, St. Mary’s, Burton Trace, Preau Village, Barrackpore, Rochard Douglas Road, Hindustan, Indian Walk, Sixth Company, St. Julien Village along Naparima Mayaro Road.
Customers are advised that it may take up to 24 hours for the supply to normalise in some of the affected areas, following the completion of these works.
Motorists are also advised that during the course of the works, there will be traffic restrictions along St Georges Road, off Sancho Branch Road, St Julien (in the vicinity of St. Julien Road recreation ground).
Motorists are asked to use alternative routes or proceed with caution when approaching the jobsite and obey the signs and instructions of Traffic Control Officers on duty.
