Naps Girls’ High School Wins 19% of Scholarships

NAPARIMA Girls’ High School was awarded the most scholarships for secondary schools based on the 2022 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).

In a release on Thursday evening the Ministry of Education stated that scholarships in the ten cognate groups were awarded solely based on academic performance.

It stated, “For academic year 2021/2022, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) awarded 100 scholarships – 32 Open and 68 Additional. Of the 100 scholarships, 72% were awarded to female students while 28% were awarded to male students.”

The scholarships were awarded as follows:

  • ASJA Girls’ College San Fernando – 3
  • Bishop Anstey and Trinity College East Sixth Form – 3
  • Bishop Anstey High School – 3
  • Hillview College – 8
  • Holy Faith Convent Couva – 4
  • Holy Faith Convent Penal – 3
  • Holy Faith Convent Port of Spain – 5
  • Lakshmi Girls’ Hindu College – 4
  • Naparima College – 3
  • Naparima Girls’ High School – 19
  • North Eastern College – 1
  • Parvati Girls’ High School – 1
  • Presentation College Chaguanas – 11
  • Queen’s Royal College – 3
  • St Augustine Girls’ High School – 9
  • St Joseph’s Convent Port of Spain – 4
  • St Joseph’s Convent San Fernando – 7
  • St Joseph’s Convent St Joseph – 7
  • St Stephen’s College – 1
  • Vishnu Boys’ Hindu College – 1
