NAPARIMA Girls’ High School was awarded the most scholarships for secondary schools based on the 2022 Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations (CAPE).
In a release on Thursday evening the Ministry of Education stated that scholarships in the ten cognate groups were awarded solely based on academic performance.
It stated, “For academic year 2021/2022, the Government of Trinidad and Tobago (GoRTT) awarded 100 scholarships – 32 Open and 68 Additional. Of the 100 scholarships, 72% were awarded to female students while 28% were awarded to male students.”
The scholarships were awarded as follows:
- ASJA Girls’ College San Fernando – 3
- Bishop Anstey and Trinity College East Sixth Form – 3
- Bishop Anstey High School – 3
- Hillview College – 8
- Holy Faith Convent Couva – 4
- Holy Faith Convent Penal – 3
- Holy Faith Convent Port of Spain – 5
- Lakshmi Girls’ Hindu College – 4
- Naparima College – 3
- Naparima Girls’ High School – 19
- North Eastern College – 1
- Parvati Girls’ High School – 1
- Presentation College Chaguanas – 11
- Queen’s Royal College – 3
- St Augustine Girls’ High School – 9
- St Joseph’s Convent Port of Spain – 4
- St Joseph’s Convent San Fernando – 7
- St Joseph’s Convent St Joseph – 7
- St Stephen’s College – 1
