A rough seas bulletin is in effect for the next week.
TTMS is forecasting long periods of north-easterly swells “to affect nearshore activity in northern, sheltered and to a lesser extent eastern coastal areas.”
It added: “Effects are usually in the form of occasional battering waves, which can lead to disruption to sea bathing and other nearshore coastal activities.
“In some cases, mild coastal flooding and damage/erosion is also possible. Spring tides are also in effect, which will enhance near-shore impacts during high tides.”
Sea bathers, fishermen, and small craft operators are advised to carefully monitor nearshore coastal sea conditions and exercise caution in affected areas.
Those visiting beaches during the week are advised to follow the instructions of lifeguards.
