A 19-YEAR-OLD prisoner is expected to appear before a Chaguanas Magistrate on Tuesday, charged with the 2021 murder of Shabiram Bandool.
Chiari Soverall, who is currently detained at the Golden Grove Maximum Security Prison in Arouca, was charged with the offence, following advice received from Acting Director of Public Prosecutions Joan Honore-Paul, on August 30.
He was charged with the offence by acting Cpl Augustus, of Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region Three, on Monday.
Bandool, 60, a taxi-driver of Felicity, was found injured outside a vehicle in the district on February 5, 2021. He was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in a critical condition.
Soverall was charged with the offence of wounding in connection with the incident and remanded into custody.
The victim however, died on June 25, 2021, as a result of the injuries he sustained. Investigations were supervised by acting Supt Dhilpaul and Sgt Jones, both of the HBI Region Three.
