THE three fishermen who were captured off Icacos on Tuesday are now back in Trinidad after relatives paid a ransom.
Ramkissoon Harricharan, 64, Keith “Carlo” Sneider, 61, and a Venezuelan man who lives in Trinidad, were kidnapped at gunpoint and a ransom of US$10,000 was initially demanded for their return.
Relatives of one of the men said that they are back home after a ransom was paid in US dollars.
They said that more than US$20,000 was paid and the kidnappers also stole the engine from the vessel German1– the boat the fishermen were in when they were kidnapped.
