OPPOSITION Senator David Nakhid has written to Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Roger Gaspard for a fourth time asking for an investigation into the conduct of the two highest office holders in the country.

Nakhid claims that he is still awaiting a response to the first three letters sent.

The fourth letter dated April 21, states that it was the fourth letter written within a period of seven weeks.

Nakhid wrote, “This seven-week period pales in comparison to the seven-month period which passed since the misbehaviour in public office by two of our highest public office holders, namely Her Excellency President Paula Mae Weekes and Prime Minister Dr Keith Christopher Rowley interfering in the process for selection of a Commissioner of Police by the Police Service Commission.”

He stated, “It is noteworthy Mr Gaspard, that my accusations though circulated widely in the mainstream media and on all social media platforms, were never denied in any substantive form or fashion by either perpetrator of this alleged offence.

“As a matter of fact, for the President and Prime Minister of our Republic to be so accused by a Senator of the Republic, and there not being even a public denial of the accusations, speaks volumes and thereby has the tendency to communicate to the citizenry the perception of lawlessness with impunity by our Republic’s highest public office holders.”

Nakhid wrote that he continued to trust in Gaspard’s impartiality and office and asked again that the investigation be launched.
