JANUARY to the beginning of April has been showing smaller numbers of Covid-19 cases on a daily basis.
This according to Epidemiologist Dr Avery Hinds at the Ministry of Health virtual press conference on Wednesday.
He said the rolling seven-day average was flattening out rather than continuing a downward trend.
In examining the data on a monthly basis, Dr Hinds said there was a downward trend from January throughout to March however the positivity has plateaued instead of continuing downwards.
Dr Hinds said, “It’s hovering around 37 % to 38 % of cases tested for April thus far.”
He added that 48.4 % cases of Covid-19 have been men while 51.6 % were women with the majority being in the mobile working age group of 25 to 49 year-olds.
Dr Hinds said two-thirds of Covid-19 fatalities have always been in the age group over 60, and 57 to 58 % have been among men.
