A SEVEN-year-old primary school student drowns in his grandparents’ pool at Robert Village in Tableland on Tuesday afternoon.
Asaiah Josiah went was with his mother to Robert Village. Around 1.30 pm he went to the back of the house to play.
Reports indicated that his mother checked on him a few minutes later and found him at the bottom of the pool.
The ambulance was called and the paramedics administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) but he remained unresponsive.
He was taken to the Princes Town District Health Facility where doctors tried to bring revive him. He was pronounced dead at 4.30 pm.
An autopsy is expected to be done at the San Fernando Mortuary on Friday.
