Of the Covid-19 vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (WHO), AstraZeneca is one with a short shelf life.

At the Ministry of Health’s virtual media conference, Deyalsingh said there was little wastage from the 277,000 AstraZeneca vaccines received.

He said, “The vials come with overages. Sometimes they come with one-dose extra or two-doses extra. What has been left are those overages, 1,870 which is 0.67% of the total amount issued.”

He added, “It means almost all, 99.3% of the AstraZeneca vaccine have been used which is absolutely phenomenal.”
